Words Of Comfort

My wife has a doctors appointment tomorrow. Tomorrow's appointment has me feeling very afraid and anxious. Brittany is going to be having weekly fetal stress tests. They are going to be monitoring the heart rate of our baby because it has slowed down lately. The heart rate should be between 140-160 and as of now it is 133. It has continued to get lower at every appointment. We are praying that the heart rate will rise and that everything is fine. We ask for your prayers as well.

Tonight I was reading Psalm 34 and verse 4 calmed my heart. I don't know if you are out there and you are dealing with fear as well, but if you are I pray that this verse speaks peace to you as it does me.

Psalm 34:4
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears."

I also am comforted by this verse

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

There are so many other verses that are great, but these are two that I wanted to share now. It is cool how God always speaks to you through his word.

Toward the beginning of my pregnancy when we were dealing with some very scary things a friend told me two things.

First she said to me: In the worst of cases or when things look very bleak remember that it's man's odds against you. God's odds are never against you.

And then she reminded me: If God leads you to it He will bring you through it. Remeber that God will never leave you alone in the face of trials.

We're praying for both of you and the baby.

Bro -

I know this is very stressful for you. I have not been there, but I can imagine based on the love that I have for my kids. We are praying for you and keep us posted. God is faithful.
