I think the big government and all the spazo people with tape over their mouths should all go home and stay out of the family business. The husband and the mother should fight out on the front yard and the winner gets to make the call.

I agree that the government should keep out of this one. I am guessing that there are other things they could be concentrating on. I am not saying that this woman's life is not important, but I do think it is evil to keep her alive. I think this has become more about the parents and the husband then it has about this lady's life. Let her go peacefully and remember the good times that you had with her. Instead she is going to be remembered for the wrong things.

I also feel the government should not be allowed to make these decisions. This case should also make people aware of how important it is to have a living will. It saves a lot of pain and heartache for the family.

Why is it legal to starve or dehydrate her to death over the course of two weeks (which by any account is agonizing), but it is murder to give a shot and have it end quickly?

I'm not expressing an opinion on the underlying case, but it seems that if the decision has been cast for death, then why not have it end peacefully and quickly?

I hear that. That is a good take.

from the words of my wise aunt (who is also the director of nursing at a hospital in WI)The woman is much too alert and responsive to things to say she's a vegetable and doesn't know what is going on around her. However this aunt also said she would not want herself or a family member to be calling that state of being "life". She also said that the woman is being fed so many drugs she's not feeling the "starvation". Just some thoughts.
